Summer is coming.
More specifically, Wedding season is coming… 😬
And chances are, some of you lucky fellas are getting married then.
If you’re anything like me, you probably tend to put things off to the last minute.
Well, I’m here as a true friend, to tell you - “Get your sh** together!”
Although summer feels like it’s a long ways away, in wedding time (that’s what your fiancée has been operating on) it’s literally right around the corner.
As the wedding countdown app rapidly ticks away, here are a few tasks that you’ll want to make sure you’ve either completed, or need to get going on ASAP.
1. Groomsmen gifts
I know you’ve probably been a Christmas Eve shopper your whole life, but you can’t push this back if you are going to get your buddies something that they’ll actually like.
Oh, and did I mention that these gifts will probably be opened in front of the whole wedding party and family?
Don’t make your groomsmen fake enthusiasm over a tie or matching socks. If you’re pressed for ideas, we happen to have what most consider the best groomsmen gifts in the world. Check out the best ones here - Top 5 Groomsmen Gifts (and why they KILL IT every single time)
2. Rehearsal Dinner
Since we mentioned groomsmen gifts, that brings something else to mind.
Do you know what you’re doing for the rehearsal dinner?
If not, you’re going to want to get something put on the books. Depending on the size of your wedding party, restaurants may need a few months notice to be able to accommodate your group.
Traditionally the groom’s parents spring for this last meal, if that’s the case find out what they are willing to contribute. Mom and dad ready to drops some Gs on this dinner? Awesome, "deux de filet mignon, garçon!".
If there’s less money available, you may need to do a bit of digging to find something that will still be a nice experience for everyone involved.
My advice? Once there's enough booze to go round, most people won't really care where it is. Pick somewhere middle of the road with a good atmosphere. Unless grandma's involved. Nobody wants to put grandma through Tequila Charlie's on a Friday night.
3. Your Wedding Attire
Around this time it’s important to make sure you have everything sorted with your suit/tux. For both you and your groomsmen.
I know I mentioned this in one of my earlier posts, but this is not one of those things you want to mess up. Your bride will never let you live it down. Ever.
You could go down the Men's Wearhouse route but, honestly, that stuff looks garbage. An awesome new solution that's well worth checking out is thegroomsmansuit.com They've got super-affordable, well-fitted gear that you can buy for the price of a rental.
If you’ve already checked off all these items. I applaud you. You are certainly more ready than I was for my wedding day. If not, don't worry, just hurry up and get your ass in gear :)
